"Two things I really enjoy as a leader are solving problems and building great teams – both of which are essential to innovation. Understanding the challenges our customers and industry are facing and leveraging our core capabilities to deliver innovative solutions is one of our main goals."

What do you enjoy most about leadership?

Two things I really enjoy as a leader are solving problems and building great teams – both of which are essential to innovation. Understanding the challenges our customers and industry are facing and leveraging our core capabilities to deliver innovative solutions is one of our main goals. To make this happen, we’ve built a great team at Lattice and we are working tirelessly together on innovating for the future with our product roadmap. Collaborating to deliver technology that solves our customers’ problems is what I enjoy the most.

What excites you about your work in the semiconductor industry?

Semiconductors are the foundation of the technology industry. What really excites me is innovation that benefits our customers’ designs and ultimately improves peoples’ lives. And, as we’ve seen time-and-time again, being first to market with new technology is a key to success. Lattice FPGAs are specifically designed to help our customers innovate at the bleeding edge and get their technology to market quickly.

How is Lattice Semiconductor driving the industry forward?

Lattice Semiconductor is driving the industry forward by creating the world’s most energy efficient programmable FPGAs for today’s fastest growing technology applications. Lattice works closely with thousands of customers to truly understand and address their most pressing needs with best-in-class innovations for edge computing, AI, system security, 5G, factory automation, and robotics.

"Lattice is providing flexible and adaptable silicon and software solutions for the technology applications that will change our lives over the next decade. Energy efficiency, flexibility, security, and ease of use are core tenets of our product portfolio and roadmap."

Why is Lattice Semiconductor important for its customers?

Lattice is providing flexible and adaptable silicon and software solutions for the technology applications that will change our lives over the next decade. Energy efficiency, flexibility, security, and ease of use are core tenets of our product portfolio and roadmap.

Each of these is critical for our customers to future-proof their systems:

Power efficiency: By optimizing the power efficiency and physical size of Lattice FPGAs, we enable our customers to tailor their devices and form factors to meet the needs of specific market segments while also conserving energy.

Flexibility: Our devices are inherently flexible and adaptable. Our chips can be programmed and re-programmed over time to meet the evolving needs of the device in which they are integrated. This adaptability makes our devices an ideal choice for companies looking to add new capabilities or alter existing functions of their device over its lifetime.

Security: Lattice security-focused FPGAs and solution stacks provide platform security and address the industry’s rapidly evolving security requirements for our customers and developers.

Ease of use: Lattice solution stacks are built to make it easy for our customers to adopt our solutions and to get to market quickly.

What phase is Lattice Semiconductor in and what can we expect next?

We are proud of the progress we’ve made over the last few years rebuilding our product portfolio and growing the company. However, we are much more excited about where we are headed next. We are in a new growth phase for the company powered by multiple growth engines like datacenter servers, industrial automation, robotics, and AI in client applications. In addition to the class-leading products we’ve already introduced, we are developing a new line of products that will launch next year, called Lattice Avant™. These new products will double our addressable market by expanding our footprint into new segments and allow us to deliver incredible innovation to our customers, which will lead to accelerated growth for Lattice.

"More and more, we’re seeing that customers want to add intelligence, decision making, and AI inference capability at the edge. Lattice is perfectly positioned to help customers with both hardware and software optimized for these workloads across a variety of markets, from industrial automation and robotics to automotive, 5G comms infrastructure, and datacenter and client computing."

What emerging technology holds the greatest potential in for your industry?

It’s an incredibly exciting time to be in this industry with so many new technologies out there, but if I must pick one where we see tremendous potential, it is AI in edge applications. More and more, we’re seeing that customers want to add intelligence, decision making, and AI inference capability at the edge. Lattice is perfectly positioned to help customers with both hardware and software optimized for these workloads across a variety of markets, from industrial automation and robotics to automotive, 5G comms infrastructure, and datacenter and client computing. AI at the edge will dramatically change many different industries and we are here to help our customers make that transition.
